TrollKing5 Presents is a presentation event held by Ryan’s Fortress to share information on upcoming levels in development for Super Mario Maker 2. A new TrollKing5 Presents was just held on March 24th, 2023. There were a few announcements in this 10-minute video, so let’s share what was announced and the information. The Seven Keys of Donut Plains
First revealed back in January, The Seven Keys of Donut Plains is a level that has been in development for about three months now. The Seven Keys of Donut Plains isn’t a particularly typical level in Mario Maker. The level is more nonlinear than any TrollKing5 level up to this point. You’ll explore this world of Donut Plains to find seven keys, which you’ll use to open the door and escape the land. There are many unique parts to the world, but we’ll share what more of it means in the future, so please stay tuned for more information. The Seven Keys of Donut Plains will be released in Super Mario Maker 2 on Sunday, May 14th, 2023. Here are some screenshots from the TrollKing5 Presents trailer:
Waves of Goomba
The first level coming in April will be called “Waves of Goomba”. This is a short-and-sweet platforming level where you’ll jump across goombas to progress. While it isn’t a very long level, it is challenging and is like the baby steps towards harder Mario Maker platforming levels like this. Waves of Goomba has a clear condition, so you’ll have to defeat every goomba. Some sections will have you strategize, and the level won’t hesitate to play tricks on you, so be careful. Bowser’s Final Fight
For the second level in April, we’re doing something different. Themed to a Mario game’s final level, Bowser’s Final Fight is an epic showdown against his crew and through a few clever but difficult sections that will test your Super Mario Maker 2 skills. The level will also be the first Super Mario 3D World style level since January of 2022. Bowser’s Final Fight roars to Super Mario Maker 2 on Sunday, April 30th, 2023. The Night War: Part IV: Moonwalker
Yes, indeed, the fourth Night War level is finally in development. This level has been in development for over a year now, first announced in June 2022. However, it has seen many corporate delays and restarts in production. Finally, we have a set plan for the fourth level in the memorable series, and have started up development again. The level will be called The Night War: Part IV: Moonwalker. Its main concept is switching between the gravity-free and scary worlds to escape the night. It will borrow many other ideas from the first three levels, including direct references and secrets to find throughout. The Night War: Part IV: Moonwalker is an ambitious project, and it will be released in Super Mario Maker 2 on Sunday, July 9th, 2023. Here are some screenshots from the TrollKing5 Presents trailer:
The Shoot-Em-Ups
After a rough early development process and even a cancellation in March 2022, we’ve decided to bring back The Shoot-Em-Ups. The original concept has been modified, and the new, original level will take ideas from A Master’s Chance and The Seven Keys of Donut Plains. You’ll still be flying around shooting things in a clown car, however; that idea has not changed. The Shoot-Em-Ups is coming to Super Mario Maker 2 this summer, so please stay tuned for more information. *No footage shown
A Master’s Chance 4
A Master’s Chance 4 is in development, as we first announced in February 2022. However, it is moving slowly but surely, and there is no important information or footage to share at this time. The level is planned to continue the gameplay of A Master’s Chance 3, while adding new elements, making sections more creative, and most of all, an expansive hub with secrets and hidden elements of its own. A Master’s Chance 4 is a very ambitious project, and will be coming to Super Mario Maker 2 on Sunday, June 4th, 2023. Please stay tuned for more information soon. *No footage shown
A Master’s Chance: SMB3 Remake
Just like Dunes of the Egyptian Desert and Time, Lava, & Claws, the original A Master’s Chance from 2019 is being remade. The level has been recreated in the Super Mario Bros. 3 game style. This means that some sections that involve abilities only accessible in the New Super Mario Bros. U style has been modified to work. We’ve also fixed some other parts of the original level and polished it from the original classic. A Master’s Chance: SMB3 Remake is available later today in Super Mario Maker 2.
