Top 5 Hopes for the February 2022 Nintendo Direct

With the next Nintendo Direct coming later today, there are many predictions of what will be announced and discussed. I already released my predictions, but what of those am I hoping to see? Here’s the top 5 predictions for today’s Nintendo Direct I am hoping for.

#5: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel’s Release Date/Title Reveal

Clip from the E3 2019 reveal trailer of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild‘s sequel

Of course, the exciting sequel to the Breath of the Wild was shown again after 2 years at last year’s E3 Direct, but we didn’t get a specific release date or title. It is known as just “The Sequel to The Breath of the Wild” and is coming out in 2022. But when? This would be huge if Nintendo announced the exact date and title. If not, we can wait until E3 2022.

#4: Splatoon 3 Release Date Announcement

This time last year, we were experiencing the 2.17.21 Direct, and at the end of that we saw Splatoon 3 for the first time and it was revealed for a 2022 release. When we saw it for the second time at the 9.23.21 Direct, it didn’t even say 2022. Nintendo could reveal its actual release date, which would be very exciting. I’m guessing it’ll be coming out in July, especially if we don’t see it here, we could see it at E3 2022.

#3: Metroid Prime 4 Trailer

We might not have gotten Metroid Prime 4 at E3 2021 (though Dread was a pleasant surprise) it was announced that production had been “steadily progressing”. This means we could potentially see just a glimpse of the game during this Direct, and if so that would be huge. It might break the internet as the Smash Ultimate reveal did back in March of 2018. Here’s to hoping.

#2: More Information on Kirby and the Forgotten Land

I don’t know about you, but I am so, so, so excited for Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I love Kirby and his wonderful platforming adventures. The reveal of a 3D Kirby in September made me super hyped. While my original guess was the release reveal until Nintendo dropped it a few weeks ago, it would make sense to hear more about this game since it comes out on March 25, which is before E3. If they aren’t showing more Kirby and the Forgotten Land, I will be utterly surprised.

#1: Super Mario Odyssey 2 Announcement

The heavily-rumored sequel to the incredible Super Mario Odyssey is an announcement I’d die for. Even if we don’t see any gameplay or if it isn’t coming until 2023, just knowing we are getting a sequel to Odyssey would be so exciting. Odyssey was an amazing adventure and a sequel would be fantastic. Plus, we know Nintendo can make a Mario sequel as Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Galaxy 2 were terrific games, so why not Odyssey? It is one of the top-selling Mario games with over 23 million copies sold, so why not?

So there’s my five hopes for the February 2022 Direct. If we want to see my full list of predictions, check out my bingo board of 24 predictions I posted earlier today or watch my reaction in which I’ll show it off later today. For the reaction, I will be watching it live, but my reaction will not come out until a couple hours after or tomorrow morning. I’ll start at about 4:45 and talk about stuff with the Direct, predictions, and my website, including the Bingo Board. Then I’ll watch the full Direct and give my review at the end before wrapping up. I’ll see you then!
