Top 10 Best LEGO Ideas Sets

Over the years, LEGO sets have gotten more and more intricate, based on more intellectual properties, and consist of more pieces than ever before, especially when it comes to LEGO Ideas sets. These sets are based on ideas created by users who submit their designs for new sets to LEGO, in which LEGO then chooses which to turn into an actual set and which to skip over. Some of these LEGO Ideas sets have become some of the most unique and well-designed LEGO sets. So, I decided to rank the ten best LEGO Ideas sets. This list will only include sets in the LEGO Ideas series, and each set will be decided on by its design, concept, and overall look. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

#10: Winnie the Pooh (LEGO Ideas #34)

For any fans of Winnie the Pooh, this is sure to be a beloved LEGO set. The set features Winnie the Pooh’s house inside a tree, along with minifigures and pieces for Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, and Eeyore. The tree looks very magical, including beehives (since Pooh likes honey), and a very distinct design that makes it more unrealistic and more like Disney. It’s all very clever and it looks great.

#9: Tree House (LEGO Ideas #26)

This naturistic set features a large tree with two parts to a treehouse connected via a small wooden bridge. The treehouse is atop a small base, with a small picnic table, a campfire, and even a small river flowing around the tree. The treehouse is big, too, and high up. It requires a few pieces to make the small staircase up to the treehouse. It looks very naturistic and beautiful.

#8: The Office (LEGO Ideas #44)

Here’s an example of a simple yet ingenious set based on a show. The Office LEGO is the entire office from the show, along with tons of minifigures, desks, and cubicles. The smaller offices can even be disconnected from the main office area, which is really neat. The whole thing looks pretty much identical to how it looks in the show.

#7: Grand Piano (LEGO Ideas #31)

This piano isn’t just great because it looks great, but its technicalities also work very well. The small piano looks perfect, with small keys, the strings inside, and even a small stool. While it is a bit on the small side, it still looks perfect. But, you can also play this piano. You can connect the piano to your phone and play songs by pressing the keys. It works surprisingly fluently.

#6: The Globe (LEGO Ideas #40)

This large globe is the definition of spot-on. It looks like a standard globe. The base looks perfect, the continents and labels are in the perfect spot, and all the little details among this great set make this a stand-out LEGO set. The globe spins, too, just like normal globes. To be honest, I’d rather have this than an actual globe. It works the same anyway.

#5: Steamboat Willie (LEGO Ideas #24)

While it is a bit small, it’s still an incredible LEGO set. Based on the short film back in 1928 that introduced the world to Mickey Mouse, the boat is a perfect replica as the boat in the short film, along with the Mickey and Minnie minifigures. The set’s pieces are even colored black and white, just like the short film. The attention to detail is simply fantastic, and it really pays off with this set.

#4: Typewriter (LEGO Ideas #35)

Of all these LEGO Ideas sets, this is the one that looks the most like what it’s trying to replicate. The keys are spot-on, the technicality looks identical to an actual typewriter, and you can even fit paper in it! This is another set where the attention to detail is the star of the show, and again, it pays off. I bet if I showed this to my grandfather, he might think it’s real at first. It looks that realistic.

#3: Sesame Street (LEGO Ideas #32)

Sesame Street is easily one of the most charming kids shows out there, and this LEGO set doesn’t change that. The buildings look identical to the ones on Sesame Street, along with all the characters you can find, details around the block, signs, and so much more. It really looks like this set was just pulled right out of the show.

#2: WALL-E (LEGO Ideas #12)

I love WALL-E, and I love LEGO, so finding out a LEGO WALL-E was real was pretty exciting. Plus, the set looks spectacular. LEGO WALL-E is a perfect size, and looks identical to its counterpart in the movie. He’s even holding the boot with a plant in it. What’s not to love?

#1: Home Alone (LEGO Ideas #38)

Here it is. The crown jewel. Not only is it the best LEGO Ideas set, it quite possibly may be the best LEGO set, period. As a huge Home Alone fan when I was a kid, seeing this set for the first time was a special moment. The house looks just like it does in the movie, along with all the lights and even that pesky statue everyone knocks over. There’s even the old neighbor with his shovel, the Wet Bandits with their Oh-Kay van, and even Kevin’s treehouse. The house even opens up, revealing each room in the house with some of the best attention to detail in a LEGO set yet. It’s just perfect.
