Ryan’s Fortress Wii U Day Event: All the Details

On November 18th, 2012, Nintendo released one of their biggest flops: the Wii U. On November 18th, 2022, the Wii U turns 10 years old. Even though it was a financial failure, it’s still a great piece of technology and is the console I played throughout my childhood. The Wii U is what I classify as what got me into Nintendo and Mario, and it’s tenth anniversary is a reason to celebrate. So in honor of this special occasion, this Friday will be Wii U Day on Ryan’s Fortress. I’ll be celebrating Wii U Day with posts and videos on Ryan’s Fortress related to the Wii U and its games. Something new will release every hour from 10 AM to 1 PM eastern time. There will be 5 things planned to release on Ryan’s Fortress November 18th. Let’s take a look at each one more in-depth.

Mario Kart 8 Detail Discovery: Series Premiere

Throughout the summer, I teased a project based on closely analyzing all the hidden details in Mario Kart 8 tracks, since each race track has a ton of neat details and secrets. I’ve decided to call this new series Mario Kart 8 Detail Discovery. Each episode will feature a different track. The first episode will be posted on Ryan’s Fortress on November 18th for Wii U Day, since the game first released on the console. This episode will be about Sunshine Airport, and cover every hidden detail, secret, and just everything I could find in Sunshine Airport. I plan to make more episodes, including making some episodes into videos for the YouTube channel, but only a post will release this Friday. This post will be the last to release for Wii U Day, at 1:00 PM easter time.

Top 15 Super Mario 3D World Levels

Super Mario 3D World is a great Wii U game, and a post based on my favorite levels will release on Ryan’s Fortress for Wii U Day. This will include my fifteen personal favorite courses in the game, from World 1-8, and the four bonus worlds, excluding Captain Toad levels, mystery houses, and any boss fight only courses. This post will release as the first for Wii U Day at 10:00 AM eastern time.

All 12 Nintendo Land Minigames Ranked

Another classic Wii U game is Nintendo Land. This party game featured 12 minigames based on Nintendo’s franchises, and each featured either single, multiplayer, or both compatible playing options. Of the minigames, there’s some great party games I’ve played with friends for hours and there’s some that I never want to play. So for Wii U Day, I’ll be doing a ranking of these minigames. This post will release second for Wii U Day at 11:00 AM eastern time.

5 Ways Super Mario Maker is Better Than Its Sequel

Super Mario Maker on Wii U was a big game since it was the first official title from Nintendo that allowed players to create their own Mario levels. While it was great, it was released on the Wii U, so very few people got to play it. In 2019, a sequel released on Switch with some upgrades but also some downgrades. So in this list, I’ll be listing 5 aspects of Super Mario Maker on Wii U that, in my opinion, make it better than its Switch successor. This post will release third for Wii U Day at 12:00 PM eastern time.

My Dad Guesses the Top 10 Wii U Games for Wii U Day

For Ryan’s Fortress, I’ve wanted to invite my dad onto the channel for reactions to new trailers and Nintendo Direct presentations to make the videos more fun. To introduce him, we’ll be playing a fun game for Wii U Day. I challenged him to guess the order of the Wii U’s ten most-sold games from highest to lowest sold. I’ll give him one game at a time and will let him choose the order. Let me tell you, I might have gone a bit overboard with stupid-funny details in the editing room, so this’ll be a silly video. This video will release on my YouTube channel alongside the website’s Mario Kart 8 Detail Discovery premiere for Wii U Day at 1:00 PM eastern time.

Check out all of these posts and videos this Friday, November 18th!
