Usually each year has 3 main Nintendo Direct presentations: one in February or March, one in June for E3, and one in September. This week has been celebrating a bunch of Directs, so lets discuss the announcements.
2.14.2013 – The Year of Luigi
Yes, even though the Year of Luigi in 2013 resulted in a huge loss from Nintendo, this game revealed a bunch of Luigi stuff like Super Luigi Bros. and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon.
2.13.2014 – Bayonetta 2
While the February 13, 2022 Direct had many great announcements, the highlight was Bayonetta 2 at the end. This was pretty cool since the last game was in 2009, and the second delivered and was a great title on the Wii U.
2.13.2019 – Super Mario Maker 2
Of course, what I’m mainly basing this website on, the third anniversary of Mario Maker 2’s reveal at the February 13th, 2019 Direct was huge. I remember sitting down to watch and after that, I always watched it before anything else when on YouTube. This was a game I didn’t want, I needed, and this Direct announced it great.
2.17.2021 – Splatoon 3
And today last year was the amazing February 2021 Direct with so many great announcements. While Splatoon 3 was the highlight, there was also Pyra/Mythra for Smash from Xenoblade Chronicles and an HD port for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword announcement. However, Splatoon 3’s incredible introduction was indeed the highlight.
